Hozier Body Art

I havent been doing much body painting for a while now so I thought I would be more active and paint more.

Today I was listening to Hozier because he is the best singer in the world! (And his hair is to die for) and so I decided to try and paint him.

I must admit im not overly happy with the end result, just because I think the botton of the face is too long and no matter how much I tried getting the nose right, it always looked out of proportion. Saying that, I do think it was a good attempt at a portrait.

I dont normally do a lot of portaits because I know how hard they can be but something sparked a fire in my brain which all of a sudden made me want to draw Hoziers face on my leg.

I didnt use snazaroo face paints this time because I wanted to try out something different for a change. I used Maybelline newyork master precise liquid eyeliner in Black and Forest Brown. Before they dried on the skin I quickly smudged it with my finger to blend over my skin.

These eye liners are a pen kind of style with liquid eyeliner coming out if it. They also have a thin point which is amazing for precise application.

I would definitely recommend these eyeliners to anyone as they are super easy to use and stay on a long time.

Bones and Glory Collection

This is my own art collection called bones and glory.
The theme for this was body adornments using body parts.
I wanted to use my love of weird and unusual things for this project and I thought, what would creep people out? And because im interesting in making jewellery, I thought this would all blend in nicely.
Half of my pieces are make out of air drying clay and the other half are made out of porcelain clay. I used porcelain clay because it turns a nice white colour and is light. I have found air drying clay harder to work with as it drys when your not even finnished with it and it cracks more. But because its on display and not moving, I put up with the clay.

I am very happy with how this all turned out.

Melting coffee ART

I havent been posting my art work for a while so I thought I would try and get back into it.
This is a piece called Melting coffee. I used moulds of my face and filled the moulds with coffee. I then froze the coffee in my freezer and then took the frozen coffee out of the moulds and recorded the melting process.
I love how the coffee slowly disforms the face, making it abstract looking.

Lush Review: Unicorn Horn

I am totally obsessed with this bubble bar at the moment.

For a start, lets be honest, who wouldnt love this bright, colourful unicorn horn. Anything to do with unicorns, im in!

It has a relaxing smell of lavender which is perfect after a busy day of work. Gives off a normal amount of bubbles too.

I am gutted its only limited edition and I wish I had bought more of them because it really is a nice product to have in the bath.

I mix it in my bath with a butter ball just before I go to bed. It relaxes me down really well.

I would definitely recommend the unicorn horn to anyone.

MUA review: velvet lips

The colours I used in my picture was called Funk and Reckless.

I always have half and half thoughts about anything with velvet on or in it but I am starting to like this lipgloss. It did feel really weird when i first tried it because im not used to anything velvety on my lips.

It has a great coverage with only one brush on the lips and the colour stays strong. Great for people who like bold strong lips.

The only down side to it is that after a few hours it does start to flake a little bit.
Still a good buy for me.

Robot on the inside

For this look I used snazaroo facepaints and bennye eyeshadows.
For the ripped skin I used liquid latex and a mehron bruise wheel.

Working on a back is always my favourite place on the body to paint on because it is smooth, flat and is a nice big surface to work on. Yes this look took a while to do. 3-4 hours to be exact.

I like working on things like this for hours because it tests my patients and also builds my skills up more as an artist.

This year im trying to be healthy, so ive been making this detox drink to help flush out any toxins in my body. This drink is very refreshing and taste amazing, plus if you get tired of the same taste you can change the ingredients to suit your taste buds.

You will need:
Watermelon/Cucumber
Lemon/Lime
Mint Leaves
Water
1 Jug

How To:
Cut up 1/4 watermelon and 1 Lemon and cut them into little cubes.

Next place them into the Jug and add a small handful of mintleaves into the jug too.

Fill the Jug up with cold water and place in the fidge over night ready to drink the next day.

You can drink it daily.

If you feel like having a change, you can replace the watermelon with cucumber or the lemon with a lime.

Coffee Kisses

I had a free day today so I decided to make some coffee kisses. I haven't baked anything for about a year or so now so I thought its about time I get back into it.

For those of you who dont know what coffee kisses are, they are kind of like macaroons but a bit more like a biscuit with icing in the middle. Oh, and of course there coffee flavoured as it says in the name.

They are my favourite things to bake but unfortunately they dont last long in my house.  I guess its because they are so good? Haha.

DIY Lip Scrub

When the weather gets colder, our lips tend to dry up and starts cracking and it is one of the most annoying things ever! I like to use lip scrubs a lot because it prevents these things from happening.

How to make the Lip scrub:

Pour a small amount of honey/olive oil or coconut oil into a small bowl.

Then mix in a small amount of white or brown sugar together with the honey/olive oil/coconut oil until it starts to stick together.

Use a spoon or your fingers and place the lip scrub into a little container.

It is best to keep the lip scrub in a cool area or the fridge.

Fun Facts:
Honey works as a moisturiser for the lips.
Sugar works as the exfoliator for the lips.

Lush Review: Curly Wurly

My hair is naturally curly and when I found this shampoo in lush which was made specifically for curly hair, I just had to try it.

It is full of moisture and real coconut bits to keep your curls healthy and bouncy.

The smell of coconut stays in my hair for a few days, which I love.

When I first started using this shampoo, I wasnt really sure what to think of it. It was a weird texture to work with but after a few washes I got used to it. You really dont need to use a conditioner after it because the shampoo is packed with moisture. When I wash it out my hair does feel a bit dry and like I need to put some conditioner on it but once my hair drys, it feels so soft. Not going to lie, it can be a little bit tricky washing out all the coconut bits and I do find applying a bit of conditioner to help get it out does work. Apart from that I am totally in love with this shampoo. Totally worth trying if you have curly hair.

Ceramics and metal work

These last 2 days have been crazy for me working on little projects.

My lastest project is based on cutlery and table wear, so to start with I have made a miniature set of a knife, fork and a spoon. I have been drawing some different tools which represent different cutlery and I am also in the middle of making a clay pot.

The miniature cutlery was tricky to do because the saw was very thin and kept breaking, so it took 4-5 hours overall just working on them.

Over christmas I collected bottle lids from wine and J20 bottles and I am in the middle of turning them into either shot glasses or twisted mini plates.

I have many ideas for this project and I cant wait to start making more items.

Body painting (tiles)

Today ive started working on painting peoples bodies to blend them into the background.

This piece took 1 hour to do.

I used snazaroo facepaints and bennye eyeshadows to create the image.

I found it slightly difficult to do as it was so hard to find the right colours but with a bit more practice it should get easier.

Overall, I really enjoyed doing this and cant wait to paint more things onto peoples body.

Illamasqua eyeshadow in Daemon

Just a quick review today.

I have been wanting a bright red eyeshadow for a while but have never seen the right colour I wanted until I went to the Illamasqua counter and saw this eyeshadow in the colour Daemon.

It feels light and soft on my eyes and was easy to apply and blend out if needed.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a bright red eyeshadow.

I was not disappointed!
